Wedding ceremony in Buchlovice Chateau
The Buchlovice Chateau was built in 1692 by Jan Detrich of Petrvald for his wife Agnes Eleonora of the Colonna family from Italy who reputedly complained that the residence at Buchlov Castle was too cold. Modelled on an Italian country villa, the chateau stands out for its distinct ground plan and remarkable feeling for detail. The pride of the noble residence is the terraced gardens graced with statues and the English park with a dendrological collection. The chateau garden centre boasts the largest collection of fuchsias to be found in Czechia. In 1908 the chateau witnessed the negotiations on the annexation of Bosnia and Herzegovina by the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy.
